and it is no longer affiliated with the Mormon/LDS church

SHEMA EMET CONGREGATION
STATEMENT OF FAITH

"THE BIBLE"

We believe that the Bible, composed of both the Tanach
(the Jewish Scriptures Commonly known as the Old Testament),
and the Apostolic Writings of the Brit Chadasha,
the New Covenant, also known As the New Testament,
is the only infallible and authoritative Word of YHVH.

2 Timothy 3:1517 ; Romans 15:4 ; 2 Peter 1:1921 ;
Ephesians 6:17 ; Psalms 12:67

"YHVH IS ECHAD"

We believe in the One true Elohim (YHVH) of Abraham, Isaac,
& Jacob, who reveals Himself to us in His Word and through
His Ruach, His Spirit, as Almighty G-d, Loving Father, Beloved Son,
Councilor, Provider, Teacher, Healer, Shepherd, Redeemer,
Judge, Protector, and many more,
yet One YHVH, unified together, as declared
in the Shema, "Adonai Echad", "a united One" or
"compound unity", eternally existent and omnipresent.
(note; Elohim is a plural noun)

Deut 6:4 ; Isaiah 48:16/17; Psalms 2:7, 2:12 ; Matt 28:19 ;
Luke 3:22 ; John 5:19-23 ; 1 John 2:22-24, 5:7-13

"CREATION"

We believe that YHVH created the Heavens and
the Earth. That the creation of the world was accomplished
in 6 days and Elohim (YHVH) rested on the 7th day, separating
it and making it Holy, establishing the Sabbath.

Colossians 1:16-18

"DEITY"

We believe in the Deity of Y'shua Ha Mashiach
( Jesus the Messiah) and that He is the "Seed of the woman"
as YHVH promised, and that His virgin birth was to be
a sign to Israel of His Messiah- ship. He is YHVH in fleshly form.

Genesis 3:15 ; Isaiah 7:14, 9:6-7 ; Matt 1:22-23

"MESSIAH Y'SHUA'S LIFE"

We believe in Messiah Yshua's life, His miracles yesterday
and today. His vicarious and sacrificial death as our atonement,
His bodily resurrection, His personal future return for
His followers, both living and dead, and His future
establishment of His Kingdom on earth.

12:6-10, 14:16-21 ; Acts 2:34 ; 1 Tim 6:15 ; Rev 17:14, 20:6 ;

"RUACH HA KODESH"

When we are born of the Spirit, YHVH breathes His Breath of Life into us.
We believe in the present ministry of the gifts of the Ruach Ha Kodesh
( the Spirit of Holiness or Holy Spirit), "the Breath of G-d", by whose indwelling
the believer is guided into all truth, empowered, and enabled to live a holy life.

"THE RESURRECTION"

We believe in the resurrection of both saved and lost,
the one to everlasting life and the other to eternal separation
from YHVH, the latter being consigned to a state
of everlasting punishment.

Dan 12:2 ; Matt 25:46 ; Psalms 69:28 ; Rev 20:12-15

"CLEANSED {SAVED} BY GRACE"

We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is
by grace, through faith in the shed sacrificed blood of
Y'shua Ha Mashiach and that regeneration by the
Spirit of YHVH is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
No one can earn salvation by works or obedience.

Hab 2:4 ; John 3:3 ; Heb 11:6

"YHVH'S COVENANTS"

We believe that the covenants and promises of YHVH are
without end. Therefore, no covenant of YHVH
has ever been deleted, annulled, or replaced.
The commandments of YHVH are still valid and applicable to all believers,
and bring joy and freedom to those who obey.

Matt 5:17-18 ; Rom 6:16 ; Isaiah 56:6 ; Jer 32:40 ; Rom 3:31

"YHVH'S APPOINTED HOLY DAYS"

We believe in observing YHVH's Holy days, including the weekly Sabbath
(Friday evening to Saturday evening), and all His appointed feast days
as instructed in the Torah.

Gen 9:12, 17:7, 17:19 ; Ex 12:14, 12:17,
31:17-18 ; Lev 23-24:8

"SONS AND DAUGHTERS
OF ISRAEL"

We believe that the Jews who place their faith in Israel's Messiah Y'shua
have not disowned or separated themselves from their race and Judaic
heritage, but remain sons and daughters of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel.
Gentiles who place their faith in Israel's Messiah Y'shua are also
spiritually sons and daughters of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel,
being grafted into the "Commonwealth of Israel".
Rom 11:16-18 & Eph 2:11-19
They are to worship YHVH TOGETHER in Spirit and in Truth.

Please note that Gentile believers in Messiah Y'shua
do not become Jewish. They do not replace Israel.
They are grafted into Israel, becoming "adopted" sons & daughters of
Abraham and heirs to the promises and covenants of YHVH.
